Chief Technical Officer (CTO)

We are now looking for a CTO to strengthen the management team and support development of our first IVDR product, Panviral.

Diagonal has come a long way in a short time since the company was founded in March 2020. The company listed at Nasdaq First North Growth Market in July 2021, and we are in an expansive and exciting phase. The CTO role will allow you to take a leading role in shaping the company, while at the same time contributing with your expertise within IVD regulatory requirements, product development, and general management to ensure that Diagonal keeps up the momentum and high pace moving forward.

THE ROLE

The CTO role at Diagonal oversees the regulatory process, product development, and supervision of external vendors, and other partners with the overall goal to ensure swift, safe, and IVDR compliant market entry for the Panviral platform.

As part of the management team, you will be a beacon of inspiration for all staff and take overall responsibility for developing our products. You will coordinate internal activities and lead sourcing and outsourced production. In addition, you will take leading roles in collaborative R&D projects with multiple external partners and stakeholders.

Your knowledge and expertise will make an important impact on world-wide health by contributing to the development of a ground-breaking diagnostic tool, and the experience you bring to our team will shape the company as it grows. You will be based at Diagonal’s headquarters in Lund, and you will report directly to the CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate has contributed considerably to market launches of novel IVDR products. Multiple backgrounds will thrive in this role. The following skills are of particular value:

  • Electrochemistry and/or engineering; minimum MSc or equivalent
  • Understanding technical requirements of electrical and mechanical systems in medical devices and/or IVDR diagnostic tools
  • Regulatory experience with CE-marking of medical devices or IVD products
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience of the IVDR regulatory framework
  • Experience working with Quality Management Systems (QMS) under ISO 13485
  • Experience of creating and contributing to advanced technical documentation for IVDs
  • 8+ years industrial experience
  • 5+ years people management experience
  • Fluency in English and Swedish; oral and in writing
